About Us

Introduction

Tamarrind Clothing is a pioneering sustainable fashion brand based in India, inspired by the native Tamarind tree. Just as every part of this remarkable tree is utilized, including its ashes for dyeing, Tamarrind Clothing embraces a holistic approach to fashion by ensuring every aspect of our production process minimizes waste and environmental impact.

Our Philosophy

At Tamarrind, we believe in the philosophy of zero waste. Every piece of fabric and print is meticulously utilized to avoid wastage. Our commitment to sustainability is further reflected in our choice of materials – our fabrics are 100% biodegradable, ensuring that they return to the soil without contributing to landfills. Our designs are created with longevity in mind, embracing the concept of "aging with grace," much like how our natural dyes fade beautifully over time.

Unique Selling Proposition

Our USP lies in our traditional Batik printing, a heritage craft from Madhya Pradesh. This ancient art form is not only preserved but also innovatively adapted by the second generation of artisans, who continue to create stunning pieces of wearable art. Each garment reflects the skill and dedication of these craftsmen, making every piece unique and rich in cultural significance.

Size Inclusivity

Understanding the diverse body types of Indian women, we have developed a unique sizing system. Our thoughtful approach ensures a flattering fit, with our sizes designed to accommodate a top UK 10 and bottom UK 12, addressing the common disparities in sizing standards and offering a more tailored and comfortable fit.

Commitment to Quality and Sustainability

Tamarrind Clothing stands for quality and sustainability. Our garments are designed to last, offering timeless pieces that remain cherished even as they age. We pride ourselves on creating fashion that not only looks good but also does good – for the environment, for the artisans, and for our customers.

Tamarrind Clothing is more than just a brand; it’s a commitment to sustainable fashion, cultural preservation, and body positivity. Join us in celebrating the beauty of mindful fashion, where every garment tells a story of tradition, sustainability, and timeless elegance.
